Basic Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Evaluation – 60 Minutes

This is a basic and introductory psychiatric evaluation designed specifically for parents. It takes place face-to-face and lasts approximately one hour. This evaluation is ideal for parents who are not yet ready to commit to a full Comprehensive Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Evaluation or for whom the cost of the comprehensive evaluation is initially prohibitive. It allows parents to understand the process and determine next steps for their child.

  • Trying out Dr. Mike first: Parents who want to see if Dr. Mike is a good fit before committing to a longer evaluation.

  • New patients: Parents of a child or adolescent who may need therapy first, without immediately starting medication.

  • Second opinion: Parents already seeing another professional and seeking a fresh perspective without bringing the child in.

  • Medication management – satisfied with current meds: Transitioning patients who are happy with current treatment but need a provider change due to relocation or other reasons.

  • Medication management – looking for new provider: Parents unsatisfied with current provider seeking a new evaluation to determine suitability with Dr. Mike.

  • Information only: When one parent wants guidance or information about a child’s mental health while the other parent does not wish for the child to attend.

Comprehensive Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Evaluation – 120 Minutes

This is a full and complete evaluation for a child or adolescent, providing an in-depth understanding of their mental health needs. It includes a two-hour face-to-face evaluation, followed by a third hour where Dr. Mike writes a detailed report. This comprehensive evaluation ensures a thorough assessment of the child’s condition and development of an appropriate treatment plan.

How does it work?

  • First hour: Includes the Basic Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Evaluation with the parents.

  • Second hour: Direct evaluation of the child or adolescent, followed by discussion with parents about the doctor’s analysis and recommended plan of action.

  • Parental education: Extensive guidance for parents to understand their child’s needs, why certain treatments are recommended, and how they can participate actively in the treatment process.

  • Team approach: Dr. Mike emphasizes collaboration with parents so they can become an integral part of their child’s care and support successful outcomes.

Basic Adult Psychiatric Evaluation – 30 Minutes

This is a basic, introductory, face-to-face evaluation lasting about thirty minutes. It gives potential patients the opportunity to see if Dr. Mike is the right fit for them. During this meeting, Dr. Mike can make suggestions regarding therapy, or indicate whether medications may be needed. This evaluation is ideal for those not ready to commit to a full comprehensive evaluation.

Important Notes for Patients

  • Medication limitation: Dr. Mike cannot prescribe medications during this Basic Evaluation.

  • Transition to Comprehensive Evaluation: If the patient decides to proceed, the cost of the Basic Evaluation will be applied toward the Comprehensive Psychiatric Evaluation.

  • Follow-up session: An additional 30 minutes will be scheduled to complete the full evaluation, ensuring continuity and comprehensive assessment.

  • Affordability: The Basic Evaluation provides a cost-effective option for patients exploring care without immediate financial commitment.

Comprehensive Adult Psychiatric Evaluation – 60 Minutes

The Comprehensive Adult Psychiatric Evaluation is a full, one-hour face-to-face evaluation with Dr. Mike. It is the most thorough assessment for adults, designed to provide a complete understanding of the patient’s mental health needs. After the session, Dr. Mike spends an additional hour writing a detailed report and plan for treatment.
