BOCA RATON PSYCHIATRISTS

WHAT WE TREAT

Dr. Mike and our team of psychiatrists and therapists at the Proliance Center specialize in the treatment of not only common and “simple” psychiatric and psychological conditions, but particularly in the complex ones that others have failed to get under control. Many people wrongly believe that if they have more than one psychiatric condition going on at the same time that they are “more messed up”. But, in reality the complexity is just a reflection of their uniqueness as an individual, and they cannot be treated with a simple cookie cutter one-method-fits-all form of treatment. As a result, many of our clients can have any combination of these conditions. However, our personalized, comprehensive and high-quality treatment team approach in a relaxed, comfortable environment is often all that is needed for a client to make a positive adjustment and move on to a more fulfilling life.

HOW WE TREAT MENTAL HEALTH

Proliance Center is unique and progressive in its approach to mental health treatment and personal wellness. The care we provide is personalized grounded in sound research, and draws on many treatment modalities. Our diverse clinical staff is trained in a variety of treatment modalities and brings over 30 years of experience in the field with children, adolescents, young adults and adults.

Dr. Mike and his team at the Proliance Center specialize in the treatment of not only common and “simple” psychiatric and psychological conditions, but particularly in the complex ones that others have failed to get under control. Many people wrongly believe that if they have more than one psychiatric condition going on at the same time that they are “more messed up”. But, in reality the complexity is just a reflection of their uniqueness as an individual, and they cannot be treated with a simple cookie cutter one-method-fits-all form of treatment.

Much of mental illness, as we know it today, is not “in your head” and can’t be addressed by “fixing it yourself”. There are a number of reasons that contribute to people feeling less happy and at peace than they deserve to be. At Proliance, we partner with the patient or their family to find out what those things are and fix them. They can include less than ideal health patterns (such as level of physical fitness and nutrition); less than ideal sleep habits; disturbing relationship patterns; past or present medical conditions; past or present abuse; past or present stressor at work, at home, or with friends; past or present challenges in dealing, relating and socializing with others; genetic vulnerability and the list goes on.

Many times when people go to seek help, the nature of our current medical system doesn’t allow all these things to be addressed in the time frame doctors are allotted for an assessment. As a result, people can be misdiagnosed, but more importantly other diagnoses that contribute to a person’s symptoms and quality of life are missed or not given much priority.

Psychiatrist in Boca Raton Florida

Mother reading to her toddler after a session of psychiatric treatment at Prolice Center of Boca Raton, FL.At Proliance we take the time to get it right the first time, saving you not only the time, money and energy involved in achieving the happiness our patients deserve, but unnecessary suffering, sometimes for years, that comes with dealing with an incorrect diagnosis or a less than optimal treatment.

It is well known that a lack of patient compliance with treatment is the result of a less than ideal doctor-patient relationship. Since patient compliance with the treatment (for what the doctor believes is going on with the patient) is key, a less than ideal doctor-patient relationship will lead to less than optimal treatment. This explains how people come into our office after “years” of treatment for one thing or another and then get better in a short period of time. No one ever really listened to what was going on with him or her and his or her whole problem was not addressed. Based on our partnering and teamwork philosophy, we listen to our patients and devise and personalized treatment plan to meet their needs.

Many patients come to Dr. Mike and Proliance Center, hoping to achieve a complete integration of care by receiving both medication treatment (psychopharmacology) and therapy provided solely by Dr. Mike alone or in coordination with other team members at our center. This is made possible by the most advanced electronic medical record system available to date for the mental health profession. This allows our team members to have greater, real-time contact with each other and provides the optimal setting for coordinated care, so often needed with the complex problems that affect some of our patients.

At Proliance personalized treatment is a must, and it is provided by our diverse line of professionals who are not only knowledgeable and experienced, but also sensitive to our clients’ needs. Once a working diagnosis is established, a fully individualized and comprehensive treatment plan is established in collaboration with the patient or his/her family. The team members at Proliance are specially trained in their area of expertise to integrate all relevant forms of therapy into our individually tailored treatment programs. These treatment programs may involve a combination of individual psychotherapy, medication management, family meetings, group therapy, marital therapy, or play therapy for children as agreed on by the patient or his/her family member.
